Description
A real golden northern light, this is our Alma Norte Oro. Unlike the Alma Norte Blanco, this Hanseatic rum comes to the barrel maturity for at least four years in different wooden barrels and thus gets its golden-brown color. A piekfeine spirit that tastes like the soul of the North.
Production
The extremely viscous sugar cane molasses is diluted with water and special yeast strains are added for fermentation. The process is carefully controlled to protect against acidity and oxygen. The distillation is done traditionally using both pot and column stills. This labor-intensive, double distillation in small copper stills and the careful separation of the "heart" of the distillate preserves the flavors and results in the natural smoothness of this rum. The initially clear rum is then aged in various wooden barrels for at least 4 years, which gives it its brown color. We only use water to reduce the alcohol content during bottling and completely avoid the addition of flavorings or sugar. We also do not dilute or blend the rum. The filtration is done using activated charcoal.
