Pear or apple? Apple or pear? We have the solution: Our fruit brandy made from apples and pears simply offers both! The Williams Christ pear and the Golden Delicious apple are a perfect duet, where the fruitiness of the pear comes together with the pithy aroma of the apple in one glass. This fruit brandy is also available in a regional Bremen version as an overseas brandy.
Sensory description
  • In the nose, there is the fresh fruitiness of pear combined with the more robust, nutty flavors of apple, as well as a hint of clove and cinnamon. On the palate, the fruity-nutty interplay of apple and pear flavors with their soft, light sweetness takes place.
Production
To ensure the unique taste of this fruit brandy, apples and pears are mashed, fermented, and distilled separately, unlike in Obstler. Both varieties are traditionally distilled using the rough and fine distillation method. This laborious, double distillation process in small copper stills and the careful separation of the "heart" of the distillate preserves the aromas and results in a natural smoothness. Unlike in simple Obstler, where apples and pears are mashed, fermented, and distilled together, we blend the two brandies in the optimal ratio after distillation, similar to a cuvée. Approximately 11 kg of apples and pears are used to produce one liter of fruit brandy. The filtration is done using activated charcoal. Only water is used to reduce the alcohol content during bottling. The brandy is neither diluted nor blended, and no flavorings or sugars are added.
