A whole 36 components come together in perfect harmony in our Bremer Bitter. No wonder, then, that this classic bitters has a special strong, spicy aroma. The most important components of our Bitters include herbs such as wormwood and bitter thistle, roots such as angelica, valerian, gentian, ginger and licorice, spices such as cardamom, coriander, fennel, cumin, cloves, allspice and stone anise, but also leaves such as mint and barks such as cinnamon bark.
Our Bremer Bitter has an aromatic and spicy scent of herbs with a hint of licorice. On the palate, it reveals its typical medicinal taste - initially sweet and licorice-like with a strong and flavorful spice character.
The production of this stomach bitter is done through maceration and partial percolation with selected herbs, fruits, roots, and barks in neutral alcohol. During maceration, the herb mixture is infused in alcohol, extracting its flavor. During percolation, warm alcohol flows through the herb mixture - similar to filter coffee.
