Strictly speaking, however, sloe gin is more of a sloe liqueur than a gin - perhaps that's why our Triple Peak blue label is the favorite of fans of fruity-berry drinks?
Sensory description
- The Sloe Gin impresses with its fruity-berry scent in the nose. It is also fruity in taste, but also reveals a slight acidity and notes of bitter almond.
Production
The sloe, or Prunus spinosa, is the main ingredient in our Slow Gin. It gives it its red or dark reddish color and its unique fruity-bitter taste, which is due to the sloe stone. The cyanide contained in it reminds of the bitter flavors of almonds. In addition, the sweetness in this exquisite spirit is more pronounced than in the rather dry gin. The bluish, tart berries of the sloe bush are macerated in our juniper-heavy base gin, so that the aroma of the sloe passes into the gin. With the addition of some sweetness, this special sloe liqueur on gin base is finally created.
