    [servierempfehlung] => Am besten genießt ihr diesen hanseatischen Whisky pur oder als Whisky Sour.
    [jahrgang] => 0
    [sensorik] => In der Nase besticht dieser Single Malt mit Aromen von Pflaumen und dunkler Schokolade, einer dezenten Marzipan-Note und einem Anklang von Eiche und Kräutern. Im Gaumen lassen sich Noten von Nuss, Pflaume, Sauerkirsche und Portwein schmecken - weich und rund mit leicht karamelliger Süße. Der Nachklang ist warm, lang und fruchtig.
    [herstellung] => Mit speziellen Reinzuchthefen wird die aus regionalem Gerstenmalz hergestellte süße Würze unter Sauerstoffausschluss und Säureschutz vergoren und doppelt destilliert. Diese aufwendige, doppelte Destillation in kleinen Kupferbrennblasen und die bedachtsame Abtrennung des „Herzstückes“ schonen die Aromen und führen zu einer natürliche Milde. Mindestens fünf Jahre reift der frisch destillierte Gerstenbrand, bevor er abgefüllt wird. , Der Ausbau erfolgt in Fist-Fill-Bourbon-Fässern und Rotwein-Barriques von deutschen Winzern. Frühestens nach 3 Jahren werden die Fassinhalte vermählt und zum Finishing in Portwein-Fässer verbracht. Bei der Abfüllung kommt ausschließlich Wasser zum Herabsetzen zum Einsatz. Das Bremer Trinkwasser ist von einer hervorragenden Qualität. Es werden keine Aromastoffe oder Zucker zugesetzt, ebenso wird nicht gestreckt oder verschnitten. Da bei der Filterung auch Geschmacksträger wie Ester, Proteine und Fettsäuren entfernt werden, führt sie zu einer Geschmacksveränderung. Um diese „Verfälschung“ zu vermeiden, verzichten wir auf die Kaltfiltrierung. Unser Whisky ist somit unchillfiltered oder auch Non Chill Filtered. Die Filterung erfolgt drucklos über Zellulose.
    [serving-recommendation] => The best way to enjoy this Hanseatic whisky is either neat or as a whisky sour.
    [sensory-description] => In the nose, this single malt impresses with aromas of plums and dark chocolate, a subtle marzipan note, and a hint of oak and herbs. On the palate, notes of nuts, plum, sour cherry, and port wine can be tasted - soft and round with a slightly caramelized sweetness. The finish is warm, long, and fruity.
    [manufacturing] => With special pure yeast, the sweet wort made from regional barley malt is fermented under oxygen exclusion and acid protection, and double distilled. This elaborate, double distillation in small copper stills and the careful separation of the "heart" preserves the flavors and leads to a natural mildness. The freshly distilled barley brandy is aged for at least five years before being bottled. The maturation takes place in first-fill bourbon barrels and red wine barriques from German winemakers. The barrel contents are blended and transferred to port wine barrels for finishing no earlier than three years. Only water is used to dilute the whisky for bottling. Bremen's drinking water is of excellent quality. No flavorings or sugars are added, and it is not diluted or blended. Since flavor carriers such as esters, proteins, and fatty acids are also removed during filtration, it leads to a change in taste. To avoid this "distortion," we do not use cold filtration. Our whisky is therefore unchillfiltered or non-chill filtered. The filtration is pressureless and done through cellulose.

Description

Its full body and complex, long finish make this fine single malt a very special whisky pleasure. Made from regional barley malt, completely free of smoky notes, it is double distilled in our distillery using the pot still method on small copper stills. After maturing in various barrels, port wine barrels from Portugal are used for finishing.

Our 8-year-old Van Loon - Portwine Finish is a special rarity. It is a special quality single cask bottling.
